Goal

Measure Prefixbox events in Google Analytics 4 by custom events.

Process

Prefixbox sends custom event data in data layer pushes.

In order to catch and display this data in the client’s Google Analytics, the customer first needs to set up in Google Tag Manager

• a trigger
• a variable, and
• a tag.

Afterwards, in Google Analytics 4 a

• custom dimension (with event type)

is also needed to be set up by the client to properly display the data

Creating a trigger in Google Tag Manager for the custom event

Go to https://tagmanager.google.com/ and choose your container.

1. On the main screen, from the left menu choose Triggers, and click on New button at the top right corner to open a window you can see on the screenshot.
2. On this “New trigger” window, name your trigger at the top row.
